Mercedes Ballesteros
She heads the Energy Department at the Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas, whose R&D&I activities cover a very broad spectrum of energy technologies, from nuclear fission to renewable energies (wind, photovoltaic, bioenergy, concentrating solar power), including the study of sustainable combustion processes, fuel cells, energy efficiency and the integrated study of energy systems.
She holds a PhD in Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the Complutense University of Madrid.
